Juniors

Newcastle City Junior AFC is one of the largest and most progressive junior AFL clubs in Regional New South Wales. Players are placed into teams according to their age and graded ability, with Newcastle City Junior AFC represented in multiple teams across all age divisions. Participant ages in our Junior Club are 8 to 17 years for Junior Competition level fixtures.

Pre-season training starts during February with full season training from April each year.

The community competition season usually starts in late April with the Grand Final being held in early September.

Newcastle City Junior AFC players where their abilities allow, are eligible to play Representative Football for ‘Hunter Metro’ in u13s, u15s, u17s age groups. Representative Footballing Carnivals are held in June and July in the Hunter/Central Coast region and North Coast region.

Our club provides players with the opportunity to develop, transition and continue playing AFL in our club colours with representation at the senior level in the AFL Hunter Coast for men and women competitions.

AUSKICK

We also run an Auskick Centre/Program under Newcastle City which is coordinated by dedicated members of our club. This is a skills based learning environment where younger kids are able to growth and develop their AFL skills prior to junior competition years.
Auskick is held Friday evenings at our Carrington location usually from 4:30pm until 6:00pm from late April to August.
Participants generally range in age from 5 to 8 years for Auskick.
